Ceramic floor tiles popped up and cracked in the middle of Nelson’s living room. We did a thorough inspection for the following reasons:
- Tiles were hard grouted to base and if temperature changed drastically the floor base shrank, the pressure would make the floor tiles popped up.
- Water damage to subfloor caused by leakage.
- Poor quality of underlayment or unsatisfactory workmanship in laying the ceramic tiles.
Our findings and solution: The tiles were laid tightly against each other and did not have enough space between them. As the damaged area took up almost 1/3 of the area of the living room, we recommended removing old underlayment and reinstalled new quality tiles. Nelson was very pleased with the facelift.
